Men Overdosing On Heroin At Mcdonald’s Caught On Live Facebook Stream
During the afternoon of Thursday, November 17th, Eddie Wibley was driving through a McDonald’s parking lot in Sandusky, Ohio. He was there with his four-year-old son for a sandwich – but got a lot more than he bargained for.
In the lot, he noticed a man on the ground, lying next to a car. Another man sat motionless inside. As Wimbly approached, he realized the two men were in the process of an overdose. As they waited for emergency responders, Wimbly decided to live stream the incident on Facebook, in attempt to share the tragic result of heroin addiction.
According to reports, a nurse was on the scene, and was able to awaken the man in the car. However, the man on the ground still lay gasping for air, and unresponsive. That man was 27-year-old Michael Williams.
Fortunately, Williams survived his encounter, and was able to watch the video, and what heroin had done to him. He told the following to local WKYC Channel 3:
“I was fighting back the tears. I got goosebumps and teary eyed. Like I said, I am a strong individual, and it was hard to watch.”
“I definitely have a problem. If I could get the help right now, I would definitely go. I need it I want it.”
Williams stated that he was hoping to get help for his addiction. He recently lost his job, however, and no longer has insurance. Still, his family hopes he will somehow get clean and return to a healthy lifestyle.
Wimbley’s video is just one of many recent media events that have brought increased awareness to addiction, and the number of people who have been overdosing on heroin in the last few months.
In the video, the nurse pleads with the man in the car “What did you take? Heroin? We need to know so we can save his life!”
