Now Open To All Program Graduates Transitioning Into A Life Of Sobriety
Our alumni program is created to help those in recovery transition into living their new life of sobriety. We have a full time Alumni coordinator who will coordinate fun activities and events for recovering addicts to partake in. For Alumni information and event dates and times, ‘Like’ our Facebook page.
“I came to Just Believe Feb 6, 2013, my clean date is Feb 9, 2013. When I first got here, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay or go. All I knew was that I was tired of being homeless, in jail, and in rehab. When I arrived, there was 5 other people here because it was a new facility. My second day here we decided that drinking was a good idea. My third day here a friend and I decided that we were going to leave and go on this crazy road trip back up north. When the staff talked me out of it, I stayed and the other guy left. Later that night I was still on the fence of staying or going. He ended up coming back on property with my drug of choice and said, “Do this, pack your stuff, and let’s go.” So, I did it at that point, and after I did it, I knew I didn’t really want to leave but really wanted to use. I felt so terrible that once again I had messed up to the point that I just couldn’t get right.
I stayed and told on myself and from that day forward it’s been nothing but uphill. I was in treatment for 56 days and couldn’t wait to get out because I had been to treatment so many times I was becoming institutionalized. I learned that if I wanted to stay clean I would have to listen take suggestions and change everything! And that no matter what happens in life I don’t have to use no matter what! They helped me learn how to cook, clean, make my bed, do laundry, and wash dishes.
I got out April 1, 2013 and at that point I was scared because I was no longer safe. But I continued to hold on and stay close with everyone at Just Believe. I got a job here November 4, 2013 and have had the opportunity to experience all levels of the field. I finally got offered the position to run the Alumni Program and instantly knew this is where I belong.
My goal for the Alumni Program is to watch everyone who walks through that door be a part of it. I want us all to have a friendship and support. To be close like brothers and sisters and help support one another as well as other addicts and alcoholics. I want to start doing fundraisers so that we can have the best alumni events. We can also have one to help fund a scholarship to the addict who wants help but doesn’t have ways or means to get into treatment. My ultimate goal is to become one big family and to have fun in a safe environment.”
Why You Should Join Our Alumni Program
Stay Connected With Other Recovering Addicts
One of the reasons we have this program is to help you build a network of others who are also in addiction recovery. After graduating treatment, there’s sometimes that fear of entering a world of sobriety where you’re no longer safe. This opens up the communication and connects you with others who are in a similar situation.
This is a place where you can go and feel safe knowing that nobody’s going to pressure you into using, or see anybody using. This is a safe place where you can participate in substance-free activities.
Continued Support And Resources
The Alumni Program is built on the foundation of offering support for those in recovery. Our program will provide you with the necessary support and resources to maintain sobriety. Our goal with this program is become a family element where you can come to talk, build relationships, receive continued education, participate in fun events and activities, and more.
